Privacy Policy — Turno

Last updated: August 31, 2026

The short version

Turno collects nothing about you. There is no server, no account, no sign-up. Your schedule stays on your phone and in backups you control.

This is not a statement of intent — it is a consequence of how the app is built. There is no code in Turno capable of sending your schedule anywhere without you doing it yourself, and the App Store privacy label says Data Not Collected.

What leaves your phone, and only when you ask

iCloud sync. If you are signed in to iCloud, your schedule syncs across your own devices through your own private iCloud database. We have no access to it — Apple's CloudKit private database is readable only by you. If iCloud is off, the app works the same and Settings says "On this device only".

The calendar you create. If you turn on calendar sync, Turno writes your shifts to a calendar named "Turno" on your iPhone. What happens next is yours: if that calendar is in your iCloud account and you share it with someone, they see it. Turno never reads or changes any other calendar.

Files you export. The JSON backup and the .ics calendar file go wherever you send them.

Email you write. The feedback screen composes an email in your own mail app. You read it before it is sent, and you send it. Nothing is transmitted by the app.

What we do not do

permission because we have nothing to track you with.

Apple Health

If you enable it, Turno reads sleep data from Apple Health to confirm the sleep windows you actually slept. Read only — Turno never writes to Health. The data is compared with your plan on your device and discarded; what is saved is only "this window was met", not your sleep times. Health data is never used for advertising and never leaves your phone.

Children

Turno is not directed to children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR Article 8).

Your rights

Because Turno holds no data about you on any server, there is nothing for us to look up, export, or delete. Your data is in your hands already:

This covers the rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have equivalent rights, and the same answer applies. The same is true under the GDPR for users in the European Economic Area and the UK.

We do not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not track.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, your payment details, or your address. Apple tells the app one thing: whether a valid purchase exists. Apple's own privacy policy covers that transaction.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it and the previous versions stay in the app's public repository history. A privacy policy that can be rewritten silently is not a privacy policy.
